The barrels; sourced from Four Roses Distillery in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky - are made from tighter-grained American oak, allowing for slow, smooth maturation and the preservation of the spirit’s full grain character, reminiscent of a Highland-style malt.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIn 1997, Warren and Debbie Preston purchased the final 800 barrels from Fosters Group and transferred them to the seaside bonded warehouse in The Victorian Precinct, Oamaru.
